Alternatives

An alternative page starts from a real reason to look elsewhere: a price you refuse to pay, a missing feature, a compatibility problem, or simply a different preference. Alternatives are only listed when they overlap meaningfully with the original product, and the reason for each one is written down.

What counts as a meaningful alternative

  • The original product is identified clearly, so you know what you are moving away from.
  • Each alternative shares the core use case of the original rather than merely the same category.
  • The reason to switch is stated, including what you give up by switching.
  • A product is never called an alternative because its name looked similar.
