What Aback Reviews collects, what it does not collect, and how data is handled.
Last reviewed: 2026-09-01
This policy explains what Aback Reviews collects and why. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What we collect
- Affiliate click events. When you follow a shopping link, we record the product, the page it was on, the position of the link, and a timestamp. This tells us which research actually helps people decide. It is not linked to your identity.
- Rate limiting data. To protect forms and redirects from abuse, we store a truncated hash derived from your network address together with a timestamp. We do not store raw IP addresses.
- Messages you send us. If you report an error or contact us, we keep your message and, if you provide it, your email address so we can follow up.
What we do not collect
- We do not require an account to read the site.
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not build advertising profiles from your reading behavior.
- We do not store the contents of your searches beyond standard request logging.
Cookies
We use a single cookie if you sign in to the editorial admin area. Theme preference is stored in your browser's local storage, on your device, and is never sent to us.
Your choices
You can browse Aback Reviews with cookies blocked and JavaScript disabled. Search, product pages, comparisons and all editorial content work without client-side JavaScript.
Retention
Affiliate click events are retained in aggregate form. Rate limiting records are pruned automatically. Contact and correction messages are kept until the issue is resolved and for a reasonable period afterwards for accountability.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the change will be reflected in the last reviewed date at the top of the page.
