Alternatives guide
Three reasons to look past the MX Master 3S: you want less weight, a smaller mouse for travel, or a vertical grip.
An ergonomic wireless mouse with a high-resolution sensor, quiet switches, an electromagnetic scroll wheel and multi-device pairing.
Full product researchThe MX Master 3S is a good fit for a specific set of hands and preferences. If it does not fit yours, the useful question is which property you want to change.
Weight. At around 141 grams it is heavy. If you move the cursor across a large display all day, a lighter mouse reduces effort.
Hand size. It is sized for medium to large hands. In a small hand, the sculpted shape can force you to reach rather than rest.
Grip. It is a horizontal mouse. If you want your forearm in a handshake position, a vertical mouse is a different ergonomic approach.
The Logitech Lift addresses grip and weight: it is vertical, lighter, and sized for smaller hands. You give up the sculpted thumb rest and some buttons.
The Logitech MX Anywhere 3S addresses portability: it is considerably smaller and lighter and works on more surfaces. You give up palm support for long sessions.
Both alternatives come from the same manufacturer and rely on the same configuration software, so the software dependency is unchanged. If you want to avoid vendor software entirely, that is a different search.
